I’m sure you have your own money making ideas for your website but we have included details here about other money making additions that can easily be incorporated into your existing site.

If you are just going to sell your own advertising space then I guess the easiest solution is just to take payment and add the banners / links to your website directly. Alternatively you may want to consider installing a script to manage your site advertising. One such script is OpenX which is what we use currently for the banner on the top right of all our pages here (This can handle many types of banner including Flash, Javascript, Image and HTML).

As well as finding your own advertising you might also want to consider the alternatives. There are hundreds of companies that now do affiliate programmes whereby you can make a commission based on people clicking through from your site to to theirs and making purchases. In the simplest form this just involves signing up through an affiliate management site, applying for affiliate programmes and adding the banner / link code to your website pages.

By far the easiest and most popular ways to make additional money from your website is via way of the Google Adsense programme. This allows you to add a variety of text or image ads to your site pages with the most important part being the google system finds ads which are ‘relevant’ to your site and page content.
